Since 1990, the Laborers’ International Union of North America has had one man in its corner, continuously fighting for the utmost rights of workers within the United States. Dennis Martire started with the organization that year, just four years out of his education toward a Bachelor of Science in government at West Virginia Wesleyan College. And since that time, for more than 30 years, Martire has wholly dedicated himself to the job and to ensuring other labor union members get what they deserve within their employment.

One of Dennis Martire’s most notable accomplishments during these three decades was his work toward establishing a fair wage law in Montgomery County, Maryland. He worked tirelessly with officials to create fair wages for working families -- an improvement that would only further improve the region, the workers’ public investments and the quality and efficiency of the work completed by employees. It was a win for those labor union members as well as Martire and the LIUNA.
